Postnatal Massage

Over the past couple of years I brought my two babies home. Before I was blessed with them I also had been pregnant with babies I never had the gift of keeping. While even if our circumstances are similar, I know our stories are different and understand I may not exactly know how you're feeling but I want to be able to help you in any way I can. I truly believe therapeutic massage is a beautiful and helpful way to transition to your new life that has been changed by your pregnancy or new child.

Receiving massage after you've gone through the hormonal change of being pregnant to not is incredibly beneficial to your mental, physical and physiological health! I am beyond excited to be able to help you in this way because receiving massage after baby gave me the gift of feeling like myself and being able to be the best possible mama version of myself to my kiddos! I received treatments very regularly (every week at first until I slowly transitioned back to once a month by the time my youngest was 6 months) and felt a huge difference from my first postpartum experience compared to my second. And what's better, is that research and studies can back up my own anecdotal experience!

Feel free to bring your new baby to the first few sessions if you prefer not to leave home without them. I can provide a side-lying treatment while you nurse, or they're welcome to sleep nearby in their carrier as well. Babies up to 6 weeks old are welcome to join you for your session!

Whether you've been pregnant or have recently adopted, life is going to feel a bit different for a while until you find your "new normal". Let me help you ease into that new normal by providing you with massage treatments that will give your mind and body the help it needs right now.

You Should Know...

When you come in for your first appointment, I'll have you fill out a "New Client Intake Form" so I can learn about your health and lifestyle. We'll have a short chat before your massage so I can tailor your session specifically to your needs. I want you to get the most out of your treatment so you can experience the full benefit of receiving therapeutic massage.

During this short consultation, I'll ask you a few questions regarding your pressure preference, where you've been experiencing any pain or soreness and if you need me to focus on any areas (ie: more time on the neck and shoulders, deeper work on the feet, shooting pain in the lower back, etc). Please share any details about your day to day life (ie: frequently carrying a baby, sitting for hours at a time, arduous physical activity, etc) so I can provide the best possible massage treatment for you.

And of course, please let me know if you're uncomfortable during the massage in any way. I'll check in occasionally (more often for new clients) but if the music is too loud/quiet, the room is too warm/cold or the pressure of the massage is too light/deep, or anything else you can think of, let me know. This is your time, and your treatment should be tailored exactly to your preference.
